Norway objected to the global whaling moratorium in the 1980s, killing over 14,000 minke whales since. Pregnant females make for easy kills. They swim slower and stay closer to shore. The most valuable cuts get taken. The rest goes overboard.
The Kato, the Reinebuen, the Fiskebank. He knows their registry numbers, their seasonal routes, the sound each engine makes at half throttle in stalking mode.
To him, every whaler is another Ahab who's taking things too far.
